WWE SmackDown Preview – April 25, 2025
Location: Dickies Arena, Fort Worth, Texas
Time: 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT
The fallout from WrestleMania 41 kicks off this Friday on WWE SmackDown, live from the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. As the dust settles on the Grandest Stage of Them All, the road to WWE Backlash—set to take place on May 10 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri—officially begins.
This week’s SmackDown promises high-stakes action, including a blockbuster TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships. After weeks of tension and interference, #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), and the reigning champions The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) will collide in a chaotic Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match.
The match was made official by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis after Gargano and Ciampa crashed the April 18 episode and stole the championship belts. Aldis responded by suspending the titles above the ring and booking all three teams in this high-octane showdown.
Adding more intrigue to the episode, a mysterious vignette aired last week featuring smoke, cryptic images, and the date “4.25.25.” Fans speculate this may signal the WWE return of Aleister Black, who recently departed AEW.
Also confirmed for this Friday’s show:
- Cody Rhodes will make his first appearance since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania. What will he say about his loss, and what’s next for the American Nightmare?
- John Cena is also scheduled to appear—expect fireworks.
- The fallout from Randy Orton’s RKO on the new Undisputed Champion during RAW.
- What’s next for Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest?
- The Bloodline saga continues, featuring United States Champion Jacob Fatu.
- Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton will be in action.
- Plus, more matches and surprises to be announced.
